Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to ¼ inch to ensure an even burn and prevent large flames. For the first burn, let the candle melt across the entire surface to the edge of the jar; this helps prevent tunneling and maximizes burn time. Always place the candle on a heat-safe surface, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.

If the flame grows too large, use a snuffer to extinguish it safely, avoiding any hot wax splashes. Once the wax has cooled and hardened, trim the wick again to ¼ inch before relighting.
